TRACK OF THE DAY: Slaves - 'Bugs'

Slaves have released a video for their storming new single ‘Bugs’. Unmistakably British punk, the sort that spits in your face as soon as it hits your ears. This is exactly the sort of thing that has put a rocket up the backside of British music recently. Punk duo Slaves released their third album ‘Acts Of Fear And Love’ last year in 2018, scoring another Top 10 chart entry in the process. The fearsome blast of ‘Bugs’ is a razor-sharp moment, seething with brutal energy.

The video was made in partnership with Carling and Long Live The Local, a campaign backed by Britain’s Beer Alliance aiming to keep local pubs open. “Without pubs we would have had nowhere to start our career,” explain Isaac and Laurie from the band. “Pubs are so important to the careers of musicians. They are pillars of communities and need saving.”
