STARSAILOR announce concerts to celebrate the 15th anniversary of their Gold-certified album Silence Is Easy

To celebrate the 15th anniversary of their Gold-certified album Silence Is Easy, Starsailor has announced three very special UK shows this November. The shows will see the band perform their lauded second album in full, plus selected hits from their extensive back catalogue.

Starsailor formed in 2000 as James Walsh (vocals, guitar), James Stelfox (bass) and Ben Byrne (drums) met at college in Wigan while studying music before enlisting Barry Westhead (keys) to complete their indie/post-Britpop sound. After signing to EMI Records, they rose to fame in 2001 with the release of their debut album Love Is Here.

They continued with this budding success through their second album Silence Is Easy, which featured production from John Leckie (The Stone Roses, Radiohead), Danton Supple (Elbow, Doves) and Phil Spector (John Lennon, George Harrison). Silence Is Easy sold over 54,000 copies within a week and reached number 2 in the UK album charts. It also includes three of the band’s biggest hits ‘Silence Is Easy’, ‘Born Again’ and ‘Four To The Floor’ – the title track remaining their most successful single to date.

Since then, the band have a further three studio albums under their belt – culminating in the release of All This Life in 2017.

On the new dates James Walsh said:

‘We’re really excited to perform our album ‘Silence Is Easy’ in its entirety with a string section for the very first time to celebrate the 15 year anniversary of the record. This is the album that gave us the opportunity to record at London’s legendary Abbey Rd Studios & garnered our biggest international hit ‘Four To The Floor’. See you at the front!’
