London-based band Palace are excited to share ‘Kiloran,’ the new single from their forthcoming EP ‘Chase The Light,’ which is released on June 8th via Beatnik Creative / Fiction Records. The track is available to download now and was premiered by Phil Taggart last night on Annie Mac’s Radio 1 show.
The band has spent the past week touring the UK with Ghostpoet, which ends tonight (8th April) at Birmingham’s Hare and Hounds. They will then headline two sold-out shows at Shoreditch’s Red Gallery on Thursday (9th April) and Friday (10th April), the first of which sold out so quickly, they had to add an extra date. They are also set to embark on a summer full of festivals. Details below.
In the last six months, Palace have ridden a wave of overwhelming critical and fan support. Last October, they released their debut EP ‘Lost in the Night’, which garnered daytime spins on BBC Radio 1, a ‘Next Hype’ from Zane Lowe and a session with Huw Stephens, and they found fans with 6 Music’s Lauren Laverne and XFM’s John Kennedy.
‘Kiloran’ is the lead single from the forthcoming EP ‘Chase The Light’. It might just be their most majestic stadium-sized ballad yet. However, its raw reverb-drenched sound only scratches the surface of Palace’s creative ambitions.
Launched with two sold-out debut headline shows at St. Pancras Old Church last October, Palace have won over every audience placed in front of them. No mean feat when you consider these have ranged from lairy Jamie T fans – Palace were hand-picked to support him at his London comeback show, and then joined him on his European tour last month – to topless jugglers to tearful fans. But then as drummer Matt points out, Palace are made for bringing people together: “We’ve had a few comments about our music being good baby-making music, which is nice. It’s sex music, basically.”
