Mercury Prize nominee GAZ COOMBES announces London Roundhouse date & releases “Needle’s Eye” track

GAZ COOMBES - MATADOR

Gaz Coombes finishes his most successful year as a solo artist to date with news of a new release and a couple of very prestigious UK & Irish live shows. Following the Mercury Prize nomination for his second solo album Matador, Gaz releases a further track from the record. Needle’s Eye is soaring and blissful – a galactic gospel love song & one of the unarguable highlights of Matador.

Needle’s Eye coincides with Gaz’s first ‘solo’ tour – a series of intimate one-man shows performed with acoustic instruments & effects. The tour begins tonight (Nov 11th) in Bath. In addition to this previously announced solo tour, Gaz has just confirmed two new shows at a pair of iconic venues. First up, Gaz joins the bill for this year’s Other Voices festival at St James’ Church in Dingle, Ireland (Dec 6th). Other artists due to play over the weekend include Richard Hawley, Gavin James, Lapsley & Otherkin.

The following month, Gaz plays the first show at the inaugural In The Round Festival at London’s Roundhouse (Jan 28th). For this series, the venue will be all seated with a specially built stage in the round of the room – a truly unique gig experience in one of London’s most distinctive venues. Tickets are on sale now. Other artists playing the In The Round Festival include John Cale, Matthew E. White and Marianne Faithfull.
