Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal, aka Placebo, performed in Glasgow at the O2 Academy on the 24th of June. The show was sold out, and the venue was packed with passionate fans.

There was an announcement right before the band came on stage for the audience to avoid using their phones or taking photos and filming the gig to allow better connection between musicians and the crowd. And surprisingly, there were no phones in sight during the concert.

It was magical to see the amount of love Placebo received from the audience, and it was mutual. Both Brian and Stefan communicated with the audience freely and frequently. The band played their newer material during the first half of the concert, and the second half included fan-favourite tunes such as Meds, For What It’s Worth, The Bitter End, etc.

Before playing Hugz, Brian Molko proclaimed: “Trans rights are human rights!” which triggered a strong positive reaction from the audience. Please see photos of Placebo performing in Glasgow, Scotland, taken by Alina Salihbekova.

  1. It was a magical experience, no phones, no interference, Brian and Stefan fully connected to us fans. Fans who respected each other and the band. It was without doubt the best gig I have ever been to in 25 years of gigs. One exception to this was the venue was unsafe being so hot that it was insane they did not have some kind of air-conditioning as it was getting very dangerous indeed. But this was nothing to do with placebo, I came home feeling like i had just witnessed a moment in life I will just never feel again. Thank you Placebo
