WALLICE shares brand new single ‘Loser at Best’ from her upcoming EP, Mr Big Shot

WALLICE

Fresh off of her tour dates with The 1975, where she played stadiums across 3 different continents to tens of thousands of people, Wallice is back with a brand new single from her upcoming EP, Mr Big Shot, out June 23rd via Dirty Hit.

“Loser at Best” is another effortless ode to 90’s pop-punk but with a modern-day twist. On the track, Wallice shares, “I started this song last May while on a writing trip in London. I would say this song is a bit of a love song to my boyfriend. We have been together for 8 years, but I was missing him at the time he was home and I was gone for a bit, and we started off as friends back in high school. This song is about wanted to feel needed and being intoxicated by love.”

“Loser at Best” releases alongside a visualizer and follows the EP’s first single, the nostalgic, gritty, and angsty “Best Friend.” Wallice is also hitting the road for a string of headline shows this summer which kicks off in Toronto on June 19th, with stops in Chicago, New York City, Los Angeles, and more. She’ll then roll into a UK tour, including stops at Reading and Leeds.

After picking up her first instrument at age 6, Wallice started writing songs in middle school and later played in her high school band, inspired by the lyricism of Thom Yorke, Lana Del Rey and the punky irreverence of Weezer and No Doubt. She also modelled and acted (once appearing in an episode of Frasier) throughout adolescence, with her former actress mother supporting all creative pursuits.

A proud college dropout, she attended the New School in New York City for Jazz Vocal performance for a year before moving back to California and connecting with childhood friend Marinelli, who helped her hone the wistful indie pop style that led to her rise. A breakout 2021 culminated in the release of her debut EP Off the Rails, her signing to Dirty Hit, her first sold-out headline shows, and support tours. Her second EP 90s American Superstar pushed Wallice even further, chronicling the rise and fall of a fictional version of herself.
