Relatively new to the scene and already making waves, Columbian electronic producer / DJ, Joint4Nine (Ivan Lozano), drops a brand new track ‘I’m Coming Home (Babe)’, a wonky, funky house cut that begs for repeated listens. It is taken from his new 3-track EP with the arrival of ‘Gotta Have It’ out this March through Discotexas’ sister label Forbidden Cuts.
A groove-laden, funk-tastic affair, the EP blends various genres to ear pleasing effect. Ivan says: “All these years I’ve been heavily influenced by the eclectic and old school sound from the ’70s ’80s, and ’90s. For this new release called “Gotta have It” on Forbidden Cuts , I wanted to combine genres such as Hip Hop, Soul, Broken Beat, Jazz and House in three original tracks by sampling soul and Hip Hop vocal samples and adding different rhythms boxes, rhodes pianos, warm synths and groovy electric basslines, which were recorded by my label mate Jonathan Lopez a.k.a Jonahlo”.
