The 1975 score fifth consecutive No 1 album with ‘Being Funny In A Foreign Language’

The 1975 today score their fifth consecutive Official Number 1 album with their critically acclaimed new album ‘Being Funny In A Foreign Language’, outselling the rest of the Top 5 combined.

This represents the band’s fifth Official UK Number 1 album in a row and their first on an independent label. The album also landed at Number 1 in Ireland and Australia too.

In addition, the band finished the week with two singles in the UK Official Top 40 singles chart, with ‘Oh Caroline’ at #29 and ‘I’m In Love With You’ at #34, and a total of nine tracks in the Top 100.

In support of ‘Being Funny In A Foreign Language’, the band will be taking their brand new ‘At Their Very Best’ tour on the road with dates across the US in November and December before a run of shows in the UK and Ireland in January 2023 and Australia, New Zealand and Japan in April. Formed in Manchester in 2002, The 1975 have established themselves as one of the defining bands of their generation with their distinctive aesthetic, ardent fanbase and unique sonic approach.
