Sonja Sleator returns with new single, Orion with an accompanying video shot and produced by the artist on Achill Island on Ireland’s west coast. The single and video will be released on all channels on November 8th 2019.
Sleator describes the track as a response to the loss of an idol:
“The lyrics are fairly clear, I think. But it’s not just about one thing that happened for me and how I was affected by it. For anyone who has looked up to a person, publicly or privately, if the mask slips and that person isn’t who you thought they were it feels like a loss. Orion is about dealing with that feeling and sort of saying to that person, ‘what the hell were you thinking?’”

Through 2019 Sonja has built on her performance at 2018’s edition of Hard Working Class Heroes (now Ireland Music Week) with the release of the Violent Strawberry EP and two additional singles, Runaway and Protection. Her music has been picked up by radio stations in Ireland, the UK, Canada and the USA including BBC Radio Ulster, KCLR FM, Dublin’s 98FM and The Irish Jam, and she has been featured in publications such as Hotpress, Rocking Magpie, Nialler9 and XS Noize.
