SMITH & BURROWS share video for ‘Parliament Hill’ - Watch Now!

Editors frontman and multi-instrumentalist Tom Smith and multi-faceted musician and songwriter Andy Burrows today share the video for ‘Parliament Hill’, the second track to be revealed from their collaborative new album Only Smith & Burrows Is Good Enough, due for release 19 February 2021 via [PIAS] Recordings.

Fresh from their appearance on James Corden’s Late Late Show just prior to the festive break, Tom and Andy, collectively known as Smith & Burrows are pleased to share the video for new track Parliament Hill. Ten years after their first outing, Funny Looking Angels the pair have finally reunited to release the second collaborative collection of songs under the tongue-in-cheek Only Smith & Burrows Is Good Enough moniker.

Filmed in December under socially distanced restrictions, the video features the pair wandering through the song’s location on Hampstead Heath, sympathetically embraced by director Mat Whitecross (Coldplay, Liam Gallagher) the bittersweet-ness that encapsulates the track is transformed with the addition of magical puppeteering courtesy of the local Little Angel Theatre players that alludes to past romance and the spaces and places it plays out. All the more pertinent following both writers vacating the capital last year and as Smith says; “That’s my favourite song on the album and it’s a beautiful song for now, when we’re all craving connection to people and places. It captures a real, still moment.”

Only Smith & Burrows Is Good Enough with its ever-present melodies and well-crafted song-writing may have been slow to progress over the years but its eventual arrival is a welcome respite in these uncertain times. Nurtured and written in the UK, the album was recorded in Nashville with the Grammy Award-winning producer Jacquire King (Tom Waits, Kings Of Leon, Norah Jones).

Smith & Burrows new LP “Only Smith& Burrows Is Good Enough” is due for release 19 February via [PIAS] Recordings.
