Samba, Reggae, Axé, and Macumba Blend in Anitta’s Creative New Album EQUILIBRIVM

Anitta

Anitta has been on a roll for years. From the international hit album Versions of Me in 2022, she rolled into the all-in party beats of Funk Generation in 2024. Now, in 2026, we get a distinct and cultural album that has elements of all of her best previous works and lots of new influences to experience with EQUILIBRIVM.

There’s a lot to explore within this creative new album from Anitta. Importantly, it arrives just in time to fuel the festivities of one of the biggest events on the planet – and one that Brazil just so happens to be intrinsically tied to.

From Brazilian Culture to African Beats

A new album for Anitta is always highly anticipated, but the artist put in a special effort to generate even more hype for EQUILIBRIVM. This first part of the project, entirely in Portuguese, has been promoted across Brazil, launched just after Carnival, and saw Anitta become the first from her country to headline SNL in the US.

All 15 of the initial tracks have been put out on YouTube with their lyrics, while a handful have also come out with distinct in-theme music videos. Desgraça, Meia Noite, Nanã, and Choka Choka have all surged past 1.5 million views within a week of landing, with Choka Choka, featuring Shakira, making it to 1.9 million in just five days.

It’s a superbly ambitious album, spanning a Portuguese half, followed by tracks in Spanish and some English. The Portuguese segment blends the genres of samba, reggae, and axé, while also drawing from macumba. It’s aimed at being a celebration of tradition rather than a crowd-pleaser, and in doing so, it’s the authenticity that has powered up the project to new levels of intrigue, making it stand out.

Just in Time for the World Cup Summer

Every four years, the FIFA World Cup brings about a buzz like none other, and Brazilian culture is a huge part of that. The national team may not perform as well as it once did, but the iconic Seleção Canarinho always commands attention, and the fans always bring the noise.

Samba music is a big part of the World Cup atmosphere, and it’s a sign of the summer that people around the world are tuning into these upbeat tracks. Even in other corners of entertainment, samba surges. Among the curated collection of video slots online, Samba Reels just launched for the World Cup.

As you’d expect from following fans through the street, being in the stands with Brazilians, or even going to Carnival, the slot is teeming with colour and samba beats. Featuring stacked dancers, cloned reels, and doubled wins, there are plenty of bonuses ready to amp up the experience to that next level, just as you’d expect.

Much like Samba Reels for slot players, EQUILIBRIVM lands just in time to pump some new tunes into the World Cup festivities. The album flows through much more low-key and relaxing tracks to all-in bangers. All suit a summer playlist, but for one that raises heart rates, Desgraça, Meia Noite, and Choka Choka are the top picks.

EQUILIBRIVM has landed, and it’s filled with catchy and intriguing tracks that, while being very distinct, boast a tremendous amount of broad appeal. Expect to hear a few of the more high-paced beats to feature throughout the summer while the World Cup plays out in the foreground.
