MYSTERY JETS release remix of 'A Billion Heartbeats' by CHILD OF THE PARISH

Today, Mystery Jets release a Child Of The Parish remix of their recent single, ‘A Billion Heartbeats’. The single comes from the same-titled upcoming album from Mystery Jets, to be released digitally on Friday 3rd April 2020.

The original track was first played as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record In The World on Radio 1 and oozes the message of personal responsibility and the power in becoming engaged. Child Of The Parish have taken the single and put their own tag on it by adding an emphatic drum and bass line with euphoric pulses of 90s disco-pop. Child Of The Parish says of the track: “Really excited to announce the first remix we’ve done as Child of the Parish, ‘A Billion Heartbeats’ by Mystery Jets! This is a band we’ve liked since ‘The Boy Who Ran Away’ so it’s a real thrill to be let loose on their current single. It was a great tune to start off with, so it was a pleasure to work out a new direction with it, taking it down a little disco road and working out some new chords and rhythms.”

Child Of The Parish is an audio-visual graphic novel venture between writer/producer Ben Vella and his brother Tom Vella, with art from Pius Bak. After his venture to Glastonbury 2016, Ben was inspired by the likes of Beck, M83 and Tame Impala and decided to try his own hand at creating colourful psychedelia/electronic music which sat comfortably alongside huge dream sets.

Mystery Jets’ new album ‘A Billion Heartbeats’ achieves a balance of passion, fear and hope. Amid the colourful cavalcade of rich harmonies, heavy guitars and rallying cries, the album’s essential message – about personal responsibility, and the power in becoming engaged. In a sense, it’s not just their “state of the nation” record but their “state of a generation” record too.
