KTJ & CARLY remind us all of our strength on new EP ‘Ego Death’

The past few years have been hard for millions and have seen many worldwide struggle with dark times in their lives thanks to the impact, both personal and professional, of the pandemic.

But what that time has also revealed is how strong we all are, how we have and can overcome the challenges life throws at us and how, as difficult as it can sometimes be, we can battle and defeat the demons that hold us back, whatever they may be. This is the inspiration behind the new EP from KTJ & CARLY titled ‘Ego Death.’

The pair share that their new release is: “…the culmination of the five layers of the ego and the power in stripping it away from yourself. Throughout the EP, we discover things like money, mental health issues, power, pride, self-discovery, success, and entitlement. The journey follows and at the end concludes with the idea of signing off and essentially unsubscribing from it all.”

Breaking down each track on the collection and the part each plays in the overall story being told to the listener, they add: “We start off with “Soliloquy”, which is all about figuring out who you are in the world. That is followed by “Daddy’s Little Lawyer”, which is about how entitlement can affect your personal relationships. “Pink Ferrari” is about accepting your inner demons and inviting them along the ride for life. “Heartless” is all about the classic troupe of the richest man in the cemetery; the more time in life you spend working and making money, the less time you have for love. The EP concludes with “Signing Off”, which is the fact that when you get so burnt out from life and everything that entails, you have to sometimes physically and mentally sign off – releasing your ego.”
