DAMON ALBARN - To Play London Palladium With New Project - The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows

A second London date has been announced for The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows – the new project from singer, songwriter and composer Damon Albarn inspired by the landscapes of Iceland – on 3 June 2020 at the iconic London Palladium.

Albarn has been a frequent visitor to Iceland for almost three decades and has in this time found musical inspiration in its nature and landscapes. This new piece – inspired by Albarn’s long-time love for Iceland – will see the musician perform this very personal piece in its entirety with an ensemble and specially commissioned visuals.

The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows will premiere at Bozar in Brussels on 17 May. The 15 date European tour will conclude with a return to Iceland for a special concert in Reykjavik’s Harpa on 12 June 2020.

The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows was written and composed entirely in Iceland. The title is taken from a John Clare poem entitled Love and Memory.

Damon Albarn is a singer, songwriter, composer and producer and founder member of Blur, Gorillaz and The Good, The Bad & The Queen.

Tickets for The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows at the London Palladium will go on sale at 10 am on 20 February 2020. Tickets available via the Palladium Box Office 020 7087 7755 or here.
