AMOS announces new EP Soulkeeper to be released on Friday 24th May

Following the success of single ‘Battlecry’ last year, Amos announces new EP Soulkeeper to be released on Friday 24th May 2019. The EP is comprised of three tracks: ‘Free’, ‘Soulkeeper’, and ‘To The Lonely’. Soulkeeper was recorded, produced and mixed by Michael McCluskey and Damien Brennan at Zero Hour studios in Coleraine, with additional programming and mixing on the track ‘To the Lonely’ by Mercury Award-nominated Jason Boshoff (Lisa Hannigan, Elbow, Basement Jaxx).

The synth-based electro/rock sound of this EP is a departure from Amos’ previous releases which were more stripped back and acoustic-based. The duo had all kinds of fun experimenting in the studio with the new sound and the results, while still showcasing Amos’ unmistakeably strong vocals and eloquent lyrics, bring new energy to the music.

Amos, originally a solo act, has now morphed into an alt-rock/indie-pop band featuring singer/songwriter Damien Brennan and guitarist and producer Michael McCluskey. The first EP was released in 2018 and the acoustic track ‘Battlecry’ earned Amos radio play on RTE Radio 1 as well as many local radio stations.

Listen to ‘Free’ – BELOW:

Unusually at this early stage in their career, Amos has already grown a fan base in America thanks to UMass Amherst in Massachusetts playing some of Amos’ songs on their student radio station. Amos will build on this with US gigs in the near future, but for now, the focus is on making waves in their home country. No doubt the fact that Amos has signed a management deal with Perfection Records in LA and a publishing deal with Washington Street Publishing will help them to climb a few more rungs on the industry ladder and bring them to a wider audience.

Speaking of audiences, gigs are on the agenda with the band’s next gig on 14th of June and 2nd August in McHughs, Belfast. (Doors at 7.30pm with support from Buelah Kim and Maria Brennan. Amos kicks off at 9 pm.) This will be followed by an Irish tour later in the year.
