At XS Noize, new music is dear to our hearts and we believe that genuinely talented fresh artists deserve a platform to share their material with the world. As such, we will now be showcasing one unsigned act every week, hand picked from submissions by Tom Day for the world to hear. Great news for all you audiophiles out there, but more importantly for those who’s voices deserve to be lifted from the crowd.

In his own words:
“Soham De is an 18 year old King’s Lynn based singer/songwriter. He has been performing for about 4 years and his accolades to date include supporting Gabrielle Aplin at the UEA on her ‘English Rain’ UK tour, performing at Cambridge’s Oxjam festival in 2014 and playing at his local BBC Introducing station. He has played numbers live dates at such venues The Bedford, the Waterfront and The Cambridge Junction.”

Why Tom chose Soham for this showcase:
Soham’s style really grabbed my attention. His pop-folk guitar melodies are beautiful and his husky vocals, which remind me of Ray Lamontagne, intertwine to make arresting & heartfelt songs which are as enchanting as they are complex. Dig into his history and you’ll find cover versions of Ed Sheeran that demonstrate some mean rapping skills and original tracks featuring some amazing lap-tapping techniques inspired by Ben Howard.
