VIDEO PREMIERE: Tadhg Daly - We Never Should Have Been Lovers

Today XS Noize is pleased to exclusively premiere the video for ‘We Never Should Have Been Lovers’ by Tadhg Daly. For Tadhg Daly, growing up in a large Irish family that encouraged influences from 90s rock bands such as Nirvana and Pearl Jam, helped him develop a fascination for music.

Journeying out of Jersey Island to base his creativity in London, Tadhg reconnected with his lifetime love of music after fuelling his youth with people, parties and drugs. Finding fulfilment through songwriting, the singer-songwriter began to perfect his craft. The result? A unique sound of inimitable alternative-pop.

New offering ‘We Never Should Have Been Lovers’ sees the artist deliver a soft piano-led ballad. Shimmering with gracious orchestral strings that compliments Tadhg’s captivating vocals, ‘We Never Should Have Been Lovers’ poignantly explores the tale of a broken relationship that cannot be fixed.

Discussing the inspiration for the track, Tadhg tells us: “We Never Should Have Been Lovers is a song that is fairly well summed up in the title. It’s a retrospective take on a relationship that shouldn’t have been. Sometimes I fall into a trap of letting nostalgia and longing be the narrator for decisions that I make. That can never end well when navigating somebody else’s feelings along with your own.”

Tadhg is no stranger to the live circuit either, having been booked as support for a number of respectable artists on tour, including James Blunt, James Morrison, The Hoosiers, The Kooks and Deadmau5 to name a few. Additionally, he has also sold out his own headline shows, performing at famous venues including Notting Hill Arts Club and The Troubadour.

Recognised by BBC Introducing for his development as a ‘great singer-songwriter, all without losing his authenticity”, Tadhg has begun pocketing an impressive list of credits. His previously releases saw him playlisted on major editorials including Spotify’s Fresh Finds, New Alternative Pop, Indie Alternative; as well as landing on Spotify’s, Amazon’s and Apple’s New Music Friday.
