Today XS Noize is pleased to premiere ‘Holiday of a Lifetime’ the new video from Mark Morriss. ‘Holiday of a Lifetime’, is the third single to be taken from Mark Morriss’ fourth solo album ‘Look Up’, and is available now on digital release via independent record label Reckless Yes.

A slice of tropical-pop with cheeky percussion, wah-wah guitar and a playful melody topped by trombone the track lyrically holds out the hope of escape from the everyday grind.

Mark Morriss talks about the video: “I really like the process of creating music videos and adding another aspect alongside the music. “I’ve worked with this creative team – director Gerard Georgi-Coll and producer Ben Meadows – on the two videos we’ve made for Look Up so far, ‘Holiday of a Lifetime’ and ‘All The Wrong People’. They really get the cinematic influence and how to lift the video with touches of the surreal. ‘Holiday of a Lifetime’ we filmed at Margate during August – the light makes it look like California but the setting is unmistakably the British seaside.”

Perhaps best known as the frontman of indie band The Bluetones Mark Morriss is now well into a solo career and with the release of fourth album ‘Look Up’ we find his most creative work yet.

Having been recorded through a crowdfunding campaign in 2016 ‘Look Up’ is now set for a full release across vinyl, CD and digital. Those expecting straight-forward acoustic songwriting are in for a surprise as this is an album meticulously and skillfully constructed to create brilliantly melodic and catchy tracks from a musical spectrum taking in Country, folk, Americana, Prog, soundtracks, and classic pop.

‘Holiday of a Lifetime’ is available now on all digital formats. ‘Look Up’ is released on vinyl, CD and digital on 20 September 2019. Special edition splatter vinyl and deluxe editions are sold out, blue vinyl copies remain via Reckless Yes and independent record stores.

Almost constantly on tour check Mark Morriss’ website for latest dates, including dates with Starshaped Club throughout September. He will also do in-store performances for Truck in Oxford on 10 October, and Vinyl Tap in Huddersfield on 14 December. More info to follow.
