Today XS Noize is pleased to premiere ‘Lap Dog’ by BlackJeans. BlackJeans is a singer/songwriter/producer from Long Island, New York. Growing up in a family with a Puerto Rican/Italian background, music and rhythm was an inherent trait felt deeply in much of his upbringing.
Through years of studying music and theatre, BlackJeans naturally fell into music production and a live performance that leaned heavily into theatrics while prioritizing rhythm and groove. This foundation has lent to a reoccurring theme in all of his creative projects. His debut album “How Do You Move?” will be released in early 2020.
“‘Lap Dog’ is about saying no to systems that intentionally keep you restrained. It’s about unapologetically letting yourself leave where you think you should be so you can get to where you know you belong.”
