No Devotion are back with their second single since last years “Stay”. ‘Permanent Sunlight’ pulls no punches. The band formed with former members of ‘LostProphets‘ and singer Geoff Rickley from American rock band ‘Thursday‘. This track comes off their new album, ‘Permanence‘, due out on the 25th September.
The track opens with a very powerful guitar riff, with the help of a delay pedal the notes bounce off one another and just sound great. From this point onwards the track is mostly synth driven, with fantastic pop melodies that will be stuck in your head for days. While I wished that the drums were a bit more thunderous and that Geoff Rickleys vocals were clearer this is all round a fantastic track with a stellar chorus.
