Track of the Day: Club Drive - “Spare Time”

Keeping up their unshakeable momentum, British guitar-pop band, Club Drive have released their brand new single, ‘Voyager’. Matching the band’s seamless fervour with earworm melodies, the new track fuses sparkling guitar lines with positive vibes to concoct the perfect summer anthem.

Club Drive have just completed a well-received tour supporting Canadian pop rock band Marianas Trench. Spanning ten dates across the UK, the support tour saw the band play their biggest venues to date, including a show in the capital at London’s Koko.

Club Drive’s previous single ‘Spare Time’ was added to the BBC Radio 1 playlist as the station’s “Introducing” track. This led to daytime spins from Radio 1’s biggest DJs, including Alice Levine, Dev, Clara Amfo, Greg James, Scott Mills and Adele Roberts – giving the band huge audience exposure and an exciting platform to build from.
Spare Time’ followed the 2016 release of their debut EP Dangerous and sees the band stand shoulder to shoulder with the songwriting prowess of pop rock artists such as One Republic, Maroon 5 and DNCE.

Club Drive have certainly cracked the pop/ funk formula and speaking as someone who has had the pleasure of seeing this band live at London’s “The Garage” back in March this year, I can verify that the same energy and sound is transferred easily to the stage. Aaron is a charismatic frontman who constantly engages with the audience with solid, accomplished back up from fellow band members Tommy, Steve and Christian.

Club Drive will also be making a number of festival appearances, including The Great Escape, Lovebox, Live At Leeds and a main stage slot at this year’s Standon Calling alongside Clean Bandit, Editors, Gary Numan, Laura Mvula and many more.

May 18th – 20th – The Great Escape, Brighton
July 14th – 15th – Lovebox Festival, London
July 27th – 30th – Standon Calling, Hertfordshire
