Tom Zanetti’s 2021 single ‘Didn’t Know’ became his biggest hit to date, peaking at #14 as it spent the majority of the summer flying high in the Top 20. It became a Gold-certified favourite, adding to previous hits including ‘You Want Me’ (Platinum), ‘Flight Mode’, ‘More & More’ and ‘Darlin’ (all Silver).
After seeing his profile rocket following appearances on ‘Celebs Go Dating’ and ‘Made In Chelsea’, Tom is now lining up another summer smash with his new single ‘Slow Down’ and today shares the official video featuring Love Islander Lucinda Strafford.
‘Slow Down’ is Tom’s radical reinvention of Bobby V’s classic R&B slow jam which reached #4 back in 2005. After adding his original boisterous bars with a bombastic bass attack and accelerating the tempo, Tom Zanetti has given an old classic a modern touch that will introduce it to a whole new audience. The original has a special place in Tom’s heart, as there was always R&B playing in the house when he was growing up. The video was directed by Capone and filmed in Farringdon.
Tom says, “Bobby’s original version is a total classic, so to be part of an update that brings it to a new generation is a huge deal for me. Being able to modernise classic tunes and breathe new fresh air into songs that people maybe haven’t even heard is a real privilege.”

Based in Leeds, Tom Zanetti has a broad skillset – singer, songwriter, MC, producer and promoter – but his goal is simple: to bring people together 24/7. After all, nightlife doesn’t sleep. His first guiding passion in music was bassline, and inspired by Eminem and Biggie Smalls, he started rapping over the genre’s frenetic rhythms. A DIY CDR release was passed around the local scene, but Tom didn’t realise the following he was gaining until he heard his voice flowing from the speakers of a market stall selling bootleg mix CDs. It turned out his mixes had been their biggest seller for months.
At the age of 16, he discovered he was going to become a father. That imminent responsibility provided instant clarity, focus and motivation. He booked his first gig in the modest setting of a pub, and things soon escalated. His Funkybass night had become Leeds’ premiere bassline night, with sold-out parties, festivals and international events following, and Tom added to his success by launching the nightlife brand Sleepin’ Is Cheatin’ with co-founder K.O Kane.
Tom’s early solo hits soon followed, as did collaborations with the likes of MK, Chris Lorenzo, Preditah and White N3rd. Broadening his appeal by appearing in reality TV, Tom’s current status is the result of long-term dedication, fierce ambition, and a desire to keep his feet firmly on the ground. It speaks volumes that despite the success, the international bookings and more, Tom’s heart so clearly remains in Leeds, where he’s currently putting the finishing touches to the launch of his next club. As he looks deeper into 2022 and beyond, expect more club nights, more fun, and much more new music.
