The Slow Readers Club are Aaron Starkie (vocals), Kurtis Starkie (guitar), James Ryan (bass), and David Whitworth (drums). They write anthemic, uplifting post-punk alt-rock songs with addictive melodies, sing-along choruses and heartfelt lyrics.
The band have built a loyal following across the U.K. and Europe, having worked their way up from small venues to sold-out shows and main-stage festival slots.
They have grown largely through fan word of mouth, grass-roots music blogs, and radio champions, including Christine Hawkins, Steve Lamacq, and John Kennedy.
Their fan base continues to grow daily, which is a testament to the quality of their songs and the intense live shows The Slow Readers Club puts on.
The band has a top-ten album, ‘The Joy Of The Return,’ and three other top-40 albums. They have honed their craft through several headline tours and have supported acts including James, Pixies, Morrissey, The Charlatans, Shed 7, Catfish and The Bottlemen, and Jesus and Mary Chain.
