The Coral have announced their first headline UK tour in almost three years, following the surprise release of their thirteenth album, 388.

The Merseyside five-piece will open the run in Sheffield on Friday, October 2, 2026, with dates in Newcastle, Leeds, London, Brighton, Manchester and Birmingham. The band will also support The Mary Wallopers at arena shows in Dublin and Glasgow.

Alongside the tour announcement, The Coral have shared a new video for “Leave It In The Past,” one of the standout tracks from 388.

The album was released at the end of May with a deliberately low-key, no-hype approach, appearing unannounced in independent record shops on standard black vinyl after two weeks under cover. Inspired by the band’s early days, taped compilations, Rocksteady, early Wailers recordings and 60s girl groups, 388 was made with a sense of freedom away from outside expectations.

Recorded on an original 1970s Tascam 388 tape recorder, the album embraces a raw, analogue sound, keeping in the human imperfections and studio mistakes rather than polishing them away.

The video for “Leave It In The Past” was directed by James Slater and filmed in Birkenhead Market, a location with personal significance for the band.

Singer and songwriter James Skelly said: “Ian and I used to live above a pub in Charing Cross, Birkenhead and wander round the market at weekends. It was a magical place to us. The atmosphere of the place, and the characters you still find there, reflect the ethos of 388. It’s simultaneously of today and another time entirely.”

The Coral’s last headline tour took place in support of 2023’s Sea Of Mirrors. After a series of festival appearances and support slots, the band will return to the road for the 388 UK Tour, with support from Mozart Estate and Dave McCabe on selected dates.
