Barely eighteen months into their bright burning existence, Superorganism have successfully negotiated a steep trajectory from brand new internet buzz band to much-loved, real-world breakout stars, with a global fanbase and acclaimed debut album to their name.
The London-based, eight person collective of international musicians and pop culture junkies from Japan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand and the UK released their self-titled debut album in March via Domino; a riot of idiosyncratic, technicolour pop that is an on-the-money encapsulation of the vital sights and sounds of music in 2018. Superorganism beams with a sense of wonky, kaleidoscopic fun but is anchored in the timeless songwriting which got the internet and airwaves buzzing in the first place.
Superorganism are set to release a new single, “Something For Your M.I.N.D.”, taken from their acclaimed debut album, on 12th October 2018. Accompanied by a stunning, “Something For Your M.I.N.D.” is another prime cut from an album that was self-produced, written and recorded in the band’s east London house-stroke-studio-stroke band HQ they all share together (imagine a squat version of the Brill Building, or a lo-fi, DIY take on Max Martin’s Cheiron studio),
Meanwhile, the band have announced details of a new UK & Irish headline tour for next month. Like their videos, Superorganism’s live show is a multisensory explosion of sound and imagery that’s helped garner them a reputation as one of the most exciting and innovative live acts around. Following a summer of festival appearances around the world – everywhere from the UK’s All Points East, Latitude and the BBC’s The Biggest Weekend to Japan’s Fuji Rock, Spain’s Primavera, Germany’s Melt, France’s This Is Not A Love Song and the USA’s Lollapalooza festivals – the band will play an extensive set of European headline shows throughout October and November. The run of dates will include their biggest headline show to date at the 1,500 capacity Shepherds Bush Empire in their adopted hometown on Wednesday 24th October.
