Pop/folk singer-songwriter Darren Kiely releases his latest track today, “Slow Decay.” Written by Kiely and Gabe Simon, the heart-wrenching song battles moving on from something and struggling to let go.

“‘Slow Decay’ came from a place of holding on to things and people you know won’t come back,” Kiely said. “I’m excited for people to hear it! I hope it helps them let go of whatever they’re holding on to.”

“Slow Decay” is Kiely’s first new music of the year following his debut EP, Lost, which he released last fall. His unique presentation of folk-infused pop and lush storytelling, which echoes the backdrop of the Irish countryside where he was raised, is at the forefront of Lost. Kiely solo-wrote four of the seven tracks on the project and co-wrote the other three. The EP explores the triumphant war of overcoming self-doubt, struggling to find himself, questioning emotions and seeking answers. Lost features new track “Mom & Dad,” which debuted in the Top 40 on the Irish Singles Chart and also landed him in the Top 5 on the Irish Homegrown chart, as well as fan-favorite “Sunrise.”

Kiely took his new music on the road last fall, stopping for headlining shows in Boston and New York before bringing his THE ROAD HOME TOUR to his home country of Ireland in November. With stops in Cork, Dublin, Galway and Limerick, the Irish leg of the tour sold out the same day it went on sale. Following his headline tour, Kiely toured across Europe with the 502s. Kiely is currently on his headline, THE LOST TOUR, where he’ll stop in major cities across North America, including Dallas, Denver, Nashville, Seattle, Vancouver and others. Pulling inspiration from influences like Mumford & Sons, The Lumineers and Noah Kahan, Kiely has mastered his own distinctive sound while drawing in fans worldwide. With new music in the works, the Irish singer-songwriter is set to take 2024 by storm.
