OWLLE SHARES NEW VIDEO FOR ‘CREED’

OWLLE PREMIERES NEW TRACK 'FOG'

For French 20-something, Owlle, music is a way to tell stories, a way to embrace freedom and other worlds, and very much expose two sides of the same coin. In Owlle’s world, the things that initially seem quite different from one another can often reveal themselves to be quite closely interlinked. Having produced highly regarded remixes for Depeche Mode’s ‘Heaven’ and Sia’s ‘Chandelier’, her new video for album track ‘Creed’ represents one of the record’s brighter moments. “It is – to me – the most vivid and truest reflection of a most incredible time I had,” says Owlle, “… a time of complete freedom & fun…my creed.”

Directed by Marie Vic, the ‘Creed’ video features the elusive Permaid, a performance art project brought to life by Aeschleah DeMartino, a photographer, and Nicolette Mishkan, a fashion designer, depicting a mermaid in a black S&M suit.

With comparisons to Lykke Li, Chairlift, Grimes and Bat For Lashes, Owlle is the rare creature of night who finds her bliss in solitude. Her shadowy electropop tunes reverberate with the tremors of midnight and the eerie afterglow of dancefloors long abandoned. “She’s only been on the scene for a couple of years,” says Nylon Magazine, “but already the singer, songwriter and composer has accumulated a following overseas and earned comparisons to everyone from Kate Bush to Lykke Li. Although the similarities are definitely there (dreamy voice, euphoric-sounding melodies, cinematic soundscape), it’s only a matter of time before Owlle steps into a league of her own.”

Owlle’s debut album France – aptly named after her real name and her home country – also features her breakout debut single ‘Ticky Ticky’ which so far has generated over 100,000 plays on SoundCloud. New single ‘Fog’ is released in the UK on October 27th.
