Membranes new single is a remoulding of one of the key tracks from their acclaimed ‘What Nature Gives/Nature Takes Away’ album. The song sees the band embrace their 26 piece choir in an epic and emotionally charged track that captures the keyword from this turbulent year of the virus and BLM…’breathe’
‘With the song, we celebrate the power of the breath, the simplicity of breath and the right to breathe…’
The video features appearances from the band and fans as well as punk icon Jordan, Alan McGee, Brix Smith, Rowetta and the UK’s leading wind farm and green energy provider Dale Vince who John Robb has just written a November released book called ‘Manifesto’ with – the book lays out what and how the post virus world needs to do to get green. Not just offering critique it comes up with solutions on how to create a vegan, green transport and energy world.
2020 was the year when breath took centre stage. From the coronavirus to black lives matter – the most basic of human functions became the defining expression of everything.
The song celebrates the power of breath and the right to breathe in an increasingly suffocating world. Because of this, we remade the song to celebrate the power of voice and made the choir the key to the track.
