Hot Mulligan has had a busy, busy year. After completing a European tour, the group kicked off their North American tour on the 8th of November to a sold-out crowd. The entry queue stretched down the block and wrapped onto the adjoining street as anxious fans waited for the doors to open.

Of note, while many people complain about security staff, it is worth mentioning that the staff at Bogart’s were excellent. They kept the queue moving, talked with fans, and handed out water to the crowd during the show. Security and venue staff can sometimes make or break a concert experience, and I believe we should give credit where credit is due.

Bed Quad, a four-piece from Oklahoma, kicked off the night with an energetic set. They were fun to watch with insanely talented guitar work and made and sold their own hot sauce!

Spanish Love Songs took the stage with a short, seven-song setlist. This band has been a personal favourite since discovering them in 2020. Their set was balanced between cuts from their latest release, No Joy and their 2020 breakthrough album, Brave Faces, Everyone.  Fans of the band enjoy seeing SLS in smaller venues but also recognize the talent that, if there is any justice in the world, will see them playing headlining shows at larger venues in years to come.

Heart Attack Man played a high-energy set, prepping the crowd for the headliner. This four-piece act from Cleveland, Ohio, worked the crowd expertly, letting the Cincinnati fans know they were only the second-best city in Ohio.

Hot Mulligan took the stage to the cheers of a capacity crowd, ripping through fan favourites with an intensity that shook the building. Crowd surfers were a constant as the fans screamed along to every song. The band got two simultaneous circle pits going, each in a different direction. They remarked that this show had been the best night of the tour to the crowd’s cheers, as they reminded them it was also the first night of the tour.
