Lea Porcelain's Release Debut EP 'Out Is In' EP

Lea Porcelain last month gave us their Out Is In EP, the first release from the Berlin/London duo. Consisting of producer Julien Bracht and singer Markus Nikolaus, Lea Porcelain have been gaining international recognition and a legion of spellbound fans from live shows across Europe.

The title track “Out Is In” was premiered by Zane Lowe on his Beats 1 program and Stereogum gave us a first look at the video writing “The song is rich in vibrant synthesizers and gentle vocals laced with percussion as lively as a marching band, creating a track as quixotic as a lucid dream.” The EP also included a Galaxie 500 cover of the song “Snowstorm”.

After several years of friendship, mutual appreciation for multiple genres and solo-touring, Bracht and Nikolaus formed Lea Porcelain in 2015 and have already been touted as ones to watch across numerous blogs and through Lauren Laverne and Tom Ravenscroft on BBC 6Music. Their sound recalls the dystopic darkness of early Manchester sound but with a uniquely entrancing use of electronic synths and drums; the resulting three track EP is a menacing collection of sweeping instrumentals and emotional swells.

Bracht’s love of music started at the tender age of six, when he started to play the drums. He began producing at just sixteen, and developed a live techo set at eighteen. After touring internationally, sharing the stage with the likes of Ricardo Villalobos and Sven Väth, he was signed to Väth’s label where he released an international club hit. Nikolaus’ musical career was born out of the independent scene, where he signed with New York label Wolf + Lamb. Collectively the duo’s influences are widely diverse but their combined passion for indie and electronic music is unmistakable.
