Following an exclusive with the Wall Street Journal, Jesse Malin’s forthcoming new single ‘Addicted’ is now available to hear BELOW:
Written around a punchy hook-line, the song is hugely upbeat even as it reflects upon difficult times. “It’s about the transcendental spirit of music and its infectious nature,” Jesse explains. “People come and go, bands break up, lovers part and new days begin. It was written shortly after losing my friend/ neighbour, Arturo Vega (possibly the 5th Ramone and a key supporter in my early days)”. All my music is personal, but this particular song captures a lot of the changes and struggles over the last few years between records.”
The new album, entitled ‘New York Before The War’ is released on 30th March.
It’s marks Jesse’s first new material in over four years and happily rekindles his relationship with One Little Indian. It also boasts some stellar guests including Wayne Kramer and Peter Buck (REM). It was self -produced by Jesse, engineered by Brian Thorn, at Magic Shop and Flux Studios in NYC.
