EXCLUSIVE: Empathy Test - unveil double sided release of Holy Rivers and Incubation Song - Listen Now

We’re incredibly proud of this new EP; the two new songs have been going down so well live and the remixes by Man Without Country and The New Division are sensational. The fact that we’ve even been able to collaborate with those guys, who are arguably bigger names than us, shows just how far we’ve come in the last few years. We’re so excited for the next run of shows in Germany, and to finish the tour at The Old Blue Last in London on 26th November with Man Without Country.

Empathy Test is formed of childhood friends Isaac Howlett (vocals) and Adam Relf (production). They perform live with the help of Christina Lopez (drums) and Samuel Winter-Quick (keyboards). Since 2014, the independent London duo has self-produced and released two stunning EP’s (Losing Touch and Throwing Stones), two albums (Losing Touch Remastered and Safe From Harm) and a string of memorable singles, which have won them both critical acclaim and a legion of dedicated fans worldwide.

XS Noize exclusive: Listen to Empathy Test double-sided release of Holy Rivers and Incubation Song – BELOW:

Featured by the likes of Netflix, Vice on HBO, MTV’s Catfish, XFM, BBC Introducing, Clash, Earmilk and many other outlets, Empathy Test has toured extensively in both the UK and Europe. This year saw them visit Russia and North America for the first time, as well as performing at festivals in Germany and Sweden. Over the past few years, they have shared stages with top indie electronic artists such as Bombay Bicycle Club, The Japanese House and Karin Park, as well as some of the biggest names in the Alternative / Goth scene such as VNV Nation, Aesthetic Perfection and DE/VISION.

Empathy Test has been honing their talents since 2013, carving out a trademark sound full of melodic synths, driving beats and anthemic choruses. Holy Rivers presents a bold new statement from the band, with a frenetic garage-style beat and arpeggio synth building the tension before Isaac’s mesmerising vocals kick in. Lyrically, the track explores the idea of just how small the individual is in the face of governments, religions and the power of Mother Nature. Incubation Song is a celebration of the feminine spirit and the innate creativity of the female body. It’s about feeling like you’ve failed at life and asking to be broken down and rebuilt in a better form. It’s the contrast between uplifting beats and heart-rending lyrics that create a perfect melancholy, proving time and time again Empathy Test’s talent for making electro-pop music with depth, meaning and feeling.
