Legendary German industrial metal band, Rammstein are currently embarking on their seventh concert tour in support of their widely acclaimed 2019 album – ‘Zeit’.

The tour kicked off on May 11 in the Czech Republic at Letiště Praha Letňany in Prague, and excitement is building for the upcoming show at Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, on June 27.

The ‘Zeit’ album achieved remarkable success upon its release, topping numerous charts across Europe, including Germany. It debuted at No. 15 on the Billboard 200 and secured the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums chart.

From July 26 to 31, Rammstein will perform five concerts at the Veltins-Arena.

The Rammstein ‘Europe Stadium Tour’ is currently one of the largest tours globally, a testament to the band’s long-standing presence as one of the oldest and most iconic German bands.

Two decades is ample time for anyone to master their craft, and Rammstein, active since 1994, is no exception.

After entertaining audiences in Spain, the Netherlands, Ireland, Belgium, Denmark, Italy, and Austria, the six-man band will return to their home country, Germany, to conclude the Europe Stadium Tour in Gelsenkirchen.

In Germany, ‘Zeit’ stands as one of the most popular albums, having sold over 340,000 units (160,000 in the first week) and earning a triple gold certification. It remained at the top of the German charts for five weeks and spent 19 weeks in the top 10, setting a record for 2022.

Rammstein will be joined by internationally recognised French pianists,  Abélard which consists of  Héloïse Hervouët and Yolande Kouznetsov.

With the concert set to kick off in a few days, here are important things to note about Rammstein’s Europe Stadium Tour finale in Gelsenkirchen:

Ticketing

Rammstein Gelsenkirchen tickets can be purchased through reliable sellers like Seatsnet.com. For people with disabilities and their companions, tickets can be re-personalized until 25 July via Rammstein’s official website at rammstein-barrierefrei@eventim.de or by calling +49.421353638 (Monday to Saturday from 09:00 a.m. to 06:00 p.m.).

Identification

It is crucial to bring a valid identification document (passport, ID card, driver’s license) to ensure a smooth ticket check at the entrance.

Many concertgoers have been denied access to the bar during the Rammstein Europe Stadium Tour’ because they forgot to bring their IDs.

In many instances, attendees remember to bring their IDs but leave them in their cars or hotel rooms.

Don’t be like them. Sometimes, a little alcohol can enhance your concert experience, provided you drink responsibly. Without your ID, you won’t be able to purchase any alcohol, so ensure you have it with you.

 Earplugs

Rammstein’s official site recommends that fans attend the concerts with earplugs to help minimize the impact of the loud music on their eardrums.

Rammstein stadium concerts are typically loud and can adversely affect the eardrums of both children and adults. Be sure to bring earplugs for yourself and anyone else attending the concert with you.

The music at these concerts can be excessively loud. Carrying earplugs can help mitigate the effects of loud music on your eardrums. If you don’t have ear protection, make sure to get some, as you might need it at the Concert.

Sun/Waterproof Clothing

Weather conditions can be unpredictable, and the intensity often feels magnified in stadiums. It’s wise to bring along sun cover or waterproof clothing to protect yourself.

Rammstein’s touring team specifically advises fans to have these items to ensure a good time at their concerts. With the right protection, neither sun nor rain will interfere with your enjoyment of the event.

List of banned items and restrictions include:

Bags

Bags must be no larger than the DIN A4 format (21cm x 29.7cm). This applies to all types of bags, including backpacks, gym bags, cloth bags, and plastic bags.

To minimize entrance wait times, it’s best to avoid bringing bags. There is no facility to store bags on-site. Admission is allowed with smaller bags like fanny packs, small shoulder bags, and clutches, but it’s advised to carry only essential items like money and medication.

To streamline your entry into the Veltins-Arena, fans attending Rammstein’s concert in Gelsenkirchen are advised to leave out the following items at home:

  • Large bags such as backpacks, shopper bags, travel bags, suitcases, baskets

and cooler bags

  • Professional cameras with removable and/or zoom lenses and video

  • Glass containers
  • Flashlights, key & purse chains, glow sticks, laser pointers
  • Large flags and posters (including sticks)
  • Helmets
  • Umbrellas of all kinds
  • Binoculars

Parking and arrival tips

The streets in Gelsenkirchen, especially around Schalke, could become very congested. Here are some guidelines to ensure a smooth journey:

Most fans will likely use public transport or drive to the venue. If you’re one of those, you can access the Veltins-Arena via several routes.  The adjacent A2 and A42 motorways provide multiple exits. Follow the signs towards Veltins Arena and you’ll have an easy, seamless arrival at the venue. Here are the possible motorway exits:

– A2: Exit 6 (Gelsenkirchen-Buer)

– A2: Exit 7 (Herten)

– A42: Exit 16 (Gelsenkirchen-Zentrum)

– A42: Exit 17 (Gelsenkirchen-Schalke)

Arrival and parking

There are 14,000 parking spaces available around the stadium. To ensure a smooth parking experience, enter the appropriate address directly into your navigation system:

– For parking spaces A, B, C1, C2, C3, and Kinocenter, enter: ‘Adenauerallee 110’.

– For parking spaces D1, D2, D3, D4, E1, and E2, enter: ‘Willy-Brandt-Allee 50’.

Parking fee

Parking is not free. In parking garages, 2, 3, and Medicos, a fee of 30 euros applies. For parking lots B to E, a fee of 5 euros per vehicle will be charged starting two hours before kick-off.

By following these guidelines, fans can ensure a hassle-free parking experience for the Rammstein concert at Schalke in Gelsenkirchen.

Park and ride options

For certain events, the ‘Park and Ride’ car park at the ZOOM Erlebniswelt in Gelsenkirchen may be opened. However, as of July 8, it is not confirmed whether this will be available for the Rammstein concerts.

Public transport

To avoid traffic stress, it’s recommended to travel by public transport. From Gelsenkirchen’s main station, fans can take line 302 (direction Gelsenkirchen-Buer Rathaus) to reach the stadium. The journey to the ‘Veltins-Arena’ stop takes about 15 minutes.

Cycling

For those who prefer to cycle, there are around 600 parking spaces available on-site, located in front of Tunnel 1 and behind the East ticket office.

By choosing one of these options, fans are guaranteed a more relaxed journey to the Rammstein concerts at Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen where fans will be thrilled with electrifying performances to mark the five-day finale of the five-man band’s  ‘Europe Stadium Tour’
