DEAD BUTTONS - Announce New Single 'Desire' + UK dates - listen

‘Desire’ is the rip-snorting new tune from Dead Buttons – an explosive statement of intent from a band staring down the barrel of K-pop. Influenced by thecavernous post-punk of Killing Joke, Joy Division and Gang Of Four – the saviours of Rock’n’Seoul have risen.

The hottest act to break the Korean Republic, Dead Buttons, are also set to win hearts and minds with an extensive live jaunt. They will be playing across the UK, Mainland Europe, America and Asia in 2016.

Cult Liverpool imprint Baltic Records have taken on the duo’s first full length album ‘Some Kind of Youth’ – slated for release in early July to coincide with the band’s performance at The Great Escape and Liverpool Sound City.

Dead Buttons are big stars in South Korea and the wider Asian market. Their music takes strong influence from American rock ‘n’ roll – but with a strong contemporary feel. The band were spotted by label managers Jack Launer and David Pichilingi when they were over in Seoul visiting the acclaimed Zandari Festival. Jack Launer elaborates

“we were immediately blown away by their live show and also the amazing noise they make for just 2 people. They had the audience like putty in their hands and whipped them up to a frenzy. Just our cup of tea. And we thought they would be perfect for a British audience.”

The first limited edition Dead Buttons EP that was released by Baltic sold out in 1 week. It featured the track ‘Witch’ – a single that was championed by John Kennedy, Simon Raymonde and Charlie Ashcroft.
