DANIEL LANOIS: releases new video ahead of European tour – Watch

DANIEL LANOIS - FLESH AND MACHINE

The visionary new album Flesh And Machine by acclaimed musician-producer and sonic explorer Daniel Lanois is out now. The record absolutely bristles with new ideas and offers powerful evidence of Lanois’ standing as an influential purveyor and innovator of experimental electronic music.

Exploring the ever evolving relationship between musicians and technology, Flesh And Machine takes organic instrumentation and alters the sounds with an assortment of recording technologies in real time. Initially conceived as an ambient album, the record stylistically references the classic Brian Eno albums Lanois worked on as a brilliant bedrock to stand on to see the sonic future. As Eno remarked, “Dan Lanois is just about the most musical person I’ve ever met.” We said “Lanois ever the evocative artist draws more emotion from an ambient soundscape that many artists working in this genre”.

This latest video was recently premiered for the brand new track ‘Burning Spear”. The film was directed and recorded live during Lanois’ November 2014 tour in North America by his long-time collaborator Adam CK Vollick.
