BEAR'S DEN announce biggest show yet at London's Roundhouse

Bear’s Den follow the news that their new single, Above The Clouds Of Pompeii has been nominated for a prestigious Ivor Novello Award, with the announcement of a massive London headline show at The Roundhouse, on 27th October.

The London-based trio recently completed an entirely sold-out 17 date European tour that concluded at a packed Shepherds Bush Empire hometown gig. They have just released a short film, documenting the tour, to coincide with the release of Above The Clouds of Pompeii as a single on 1st June.

Above The Clouds Of Pompeii was written by Bear’s Den’s Andrew Davie and his Ivors nomination comes in the category of Best Song Musically and Lyrically, alongside Ben Howard and Hozier. The winner will be announced at the 60th Anniversary Ivor Novello Awards taking place on 21st May at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.

Speaking of the song, Davie says, “I wrote Above The Clouds Of Pompeii a few years ago, in the back of a VW campervan, on Bear’s Den’s first ever tour in America. The song is an amalgamation of many of my feelings growing up. Trying to connect with people and also my first times dealing with loss. My Dad and I went on a trip to Pompeii when I was really young and I was thinking about it one day, nostalgically and also kinda painfully remembering stuff from when I was a kid and trying to communicate how I felt back then. That Pompeii trip made a huge impression on me and seemed to be the right place and time in my childhood for me to try and articulate all those things”.

Bear’s Den follow a busy summer of festivals – including their just-announced sets at Reading & Leeds Festivals – with their biggest headline show to date. Tickets for Bear’s Den at The Roundhouse, London on Tuesday 27th October, priced £17.50, go on-sale this Friday, 1st May at 10:00am from HERE

Bear’s Den are Andrew Davie, Joey Haynes and Kevin Jones
