ALABAMA 3 announce new album ‘Cold War Classics Vol.2’ & share new single ‘Thank You’

Alabama 3

Alabama 3, the legendary band from Brixton, South London, are back with a brand-new track from their forthcoming, majestic 14th studio album ‘Cold War Classics Vol.2′ – the follow-up to their 2021 album ‘Step 13’. ‘Thank You’ is the first taster from the new set of recordings, and the single sees the band on fine, funk-laden form, continuing their 20+ year mission to deliver sublime sonic joy combined with the hard-hitting, socially and politically conscious lyrics they’re rightly celebrated for.

Lead singer Larry Love commented on the new single “Who’d have thought Laurel and Hardy’s “That’s another mess you’ve got me in to” could be so prescient today. We are all living in some black-and-white movie where politicians are comedians and where memories of the Cold War keep us all hot under the collar. Thank You for sweet FA.”

The new album ‘Cold War Classics Vol.2’ was co-produced by Danton Supple & Greg Fleming and promises to take fans on a musical journey back in time to the era of mutually assured destruction and pre-glasnost paranoia.

Love goes on to describe the album as “a trip to that warm place in your mind where spying on your neighbour was de rigueur and fall out shelter ballads and Checkpoint Charlie funk ruled the airwaves.” ‘Cold War Classics Vol.2’ is a testament to Alabama 3’s unique and innovative musical style that has captivated audiences for years.

Best known for their hit song ‘Woke Up This Morning,’ which served as the iconic theme song for the acclaimed TV show The Sopranos, Alabama 3 has earned a dedicated global fanbase and a reputation for pushing the boundaries of music genres. With their latest album, the band are set to continue their musical legacy and captivate audiences once again.

To celebrate the release of ‘Cold War Classics Vol.2’, Alabama 3 will also be undertaking an extensive UK tour, bringing their electrifying live performances to fans across the country. The tour dates are below.

About the tour, Larry Love added, “Come and get yourself in the party mood before the bomb goes off.” Fans can expect a wild and unforgettable experience at Alabama 3’s live shows, filled with their signature blend of acid house, country, and geo-political humour.
