TRAVI THE NATIVE to play a headline show at Limelight 2, Belfast on Sat 30th July 2022

TRAVI THE NATIVE announces headline Belfast show at Ulster Sports Club, Thurs 10th March 2022

A product of Belfast, Travi The Native continues to impress with his thoughtful combination of sentimental value & debonair flair. Travi The Native’s latest track, “ishouldbesleeping”, is a love letter to the idea of falling in love, with lyrics that twist together a web of devotion and longing that will capture listeners in their own emotions.

Since releasing his critically acclaimed debut EP “God Only Calls The House Phone” in 2021, Travi The Native has firmly positioned himself at the forefront of the alt-pop scene. Once referred to as “The most underrated act on this island”, he continues to be championed by national radio, including BBC and RTÉ. November 2021 saw Travi’s debut headline show sell out in under 24 hours. This thought-provoking performer is filling venues across the country, including opening for Ryan McMullan this summer. He has also gained attention when his tracks ‘Heavy Love” and “COOL” were used by Love Island Germany, boosting his popularity.

Travi masterfully blends indie, soul, and hip-hop, merging sounds reminiscent of groups like Talking Heads with the likes of rappers such as Frank Ocean. By embracing his own struggles with mental health, toxic masculinity and love, he creates a unique musical blend that shows how his vulnerability is his strength. Speaking of how this newest song came into being, Travi detailed how “’ishouldbesleeping’ is a love song. An introspective recount of life in a long-distance relationship… You live your life with this person, but they’re not physically there, and that becomes a hard thing to navigate. You each have a certain freedom… but not the freedom you want.

A constant state of longing for what you can’t have.” He elaborated that “I’d often daydream about my partner being there during all the menial tasks of the day… Ultimately, it put me in this constant state of limbo for a long time and that’s where this song came from.” The creative spirit fuelled by longing and pain showed the vulnerability that has resonated so heavily with his fanbase.

With soulful lyrics and gentle beats, this artist is making waves that will shake up the ideas of society, changing his world one song at a time.
