Today The Antlers have shared a video for their new single “It Is What It Is”. Directed by Derrick Belcham and Emily Terndrup, the video features the world-renowned contemporary dancers Bobbi-Jene Smith and Or Schraiber.
“‘It Is What It Is’ is a song about hindsight,” lead singer and songwriter Peter Silberman said. “It considers what might have changed had you handled things differently back then, and the reluctant acceptance that it’s too late for all that now. It’s the inevitability of changing seasons, transitions that feel like loss in the moment, but come to represent growth over time.”

The clip is a continuation of the story begun in the recently released video for “Wheels Roll Home”, the band’s first new music since 2014’s Familiars.
Silberman followed the release of Familiars with a solo album in 2017 called Impermanence, recorded after beginning to recover from a hearing impairment. "His multi-octave voice is as intense as Jeff Buckley’s or Anohni’s, but it’s vulnerable without being precious or cloying,” said The Guardian. “No wasted space, no wasted breath or tone. Just a six-song pilgrimage through human fragility," added Under The Radar.
Last year The Antlers celebrated the 10 year anniversary of their breakthrough record, 2009’s Hospice, with a vinyl-only re-issue and sold out acoustic tour, playing the album in full.
