After a two-month hiatus and a new album release, Taylor Swift is returning to Europe’s grandest stages beginning in Paris on May 9th for her record-breaking, highest-grossing tour of all time. The Pop queen will launch the European leg of her Eras Tour at Paris La Défense Arena with four different concerts from May 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th.
A report from Pollstar reveals that based on an approximate tally of $17.32 million in ticket revenues from her first 60 dates on the Eras tour, Swift has amassed a record tour gross estimate of around $1.44 billion and the figure is expected to rise to $2.165 billion by the end of 2024.
Taylor Swift is no stranger to producing electrical performances in music tours. From the spectacle of the ‘Fearless’ tour held in 2009 which revealed her artistic storytelling mastery, to the record-breaking ‘1989’ tour held in that solidified her stance as a pop icon.
Swift has consistently pushed the boundaries of live entertainment and this was made evident in her record-setting ‘Reputation’ tour that became the highest-grossing tour in history with $266.1 million of over 2 million ticket sales according to Forbes.
Swift’s most recent album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department’, became her record-breaking seventh studio album to sell at least a million copies in just a week after its release, selling 1.913 million copies in the US.
Her other albums to sell over a million copies include Speak Now (1.046 million in 2010), Red (1.208 million in 2012), 1989 (1.286 million in 2014), Reputation (1.216 million in 2017), Midnight (1.14 million in 2022), 1989 Taylor’s Version (1.359 million in 2023).
Swift has also produced astronomical numbers in her Billboard Hot 100 entries, becoming the woman with the most overall chart appearances as well as becoming the only artist in history to earn all ten of the top ten spots at the same time.
Her continent-sized capacity fans are set for another mesmerising experience as they gear up for the highly anticipated Eras tour.
Swifties in Paris numbered up to 42,000 will be excited to listen to songs off her newly released “The Tortured Poets Society” album before she continues her tours across Sweden, Portugal, Spain, Britain, Ireland, Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Poland and Austria.
