We are very pleased to premiere the new track from electro-rock duo Native Sons. Their second single, “Say Nothing”, is a contemplative blend of dreamy synths and brooding vocals. Definitely for fans of Future Islands, or Miike Snow.
Native Sons is the most recent up and coming product from the Bay Area. After a stint of touring and a 2013 Bottle Rock Festival appearance with their blues/rock band, The Iron Heart, Thomas Fine and Justin Altamira have finally decided to re-think their music trajectory. With a back catalogue of over a hundred songs, the duo called on industry friends and producers to record their debut that included Chris Garcia (Lana Del Rey, Adele), Shawn Harris (The Matches, St. Ranger), Jason Carmer (Third Eye Blind, Kimya Dawson), and composer Chris Foltz. With a mix of pop, dance, electronic and rock, the seven song EP, Super American, takes the listener on an introspective journey through past relationships.
Listen to ‘Say Nothing’ BELOW:
In 2012, at a small table outside of their rented apartment in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, Thomas and Justin discussed the future of their music careers. Almost to the date, one year later, they would find themselves playing at the 2013 BottleRock festival with headlines the Black Keys and Kings of Leon in their rock/blues band The Iron Heart. In Paris, they discussed what kind of music they could make, and what kind of music they wanted to make. The music of Native Sons is the latter.
The Native Sons project took a backseat for the time being, but was ever present in the hundreds of songs they wrote together of the next 4 years. It wasn’t until June of 2016 Thomas Fine and Justin Altamura decided to re-think their music trajectory. The duo called on friends and industry contracts to put together a roster of producers that included Chris Garcia (Lana Del Rey, Adele), Shawn Harris (The Matches, St. Ranger), Jason Carmer (Third Eye Blind, Kimya Dawson), and composer Charlie Foltz.
Native Sons – Super American, their debut release, is a mix of pop, dance, electronic and rock. The 7 song EP take the listener through a journey of their past relationships, adventures and past musical history together in an intimate and emotional way.
Look for Native Sons on tour in late summer of 2017. Super American will available online on all major streaming and download services August 4th.
