ON THE TURNTABLE: Róisín Murphy - Overpowered

Short, sharp and frank reviews from a confessed vinyl junkie. I’ll be posting my most loved records and most recent purchases right here for your perusal every week.

Reissue of the sophomore album from the Irish Electro/House/Disco Queen. Originally released in 2007, Róisín’s second album was further evidence (not that it was ever needed); she was clearly capable of going it alone after the break up of Moloko.

Big House tunes rub shoulders with Electro and Disco anthems throughout, with a plethora of incredible producers at the helm (including Murphy herself). It’s a no-nonsense feel-good, all-out party album. The weekend starts here.
