ON THE TURNTABLE: Larry Jon Wilson - Let Me Sing My Song To You

Short, sharp and frank reviews from a confessed vinyl junkie. I’ll be posting my most loved records and most recent purchases right here for your perusal every week.

Reissue of the second album from the velvet-voiced country crooner. Originally released in ‘76, and faithfully reissued by the brilliant Be With Records, just like its predecessor and the album that followed, ‘Let Me Sing My Song To You’ is a long lost gem. Larry never got the respect he deserved before he, unfortunately, died in 2010.

Perhaps not the prettiest cover, but what lies beneath is an album full of funky, soulful Country belters, it’s like the soundtrack ‘Every Which Way But Loose’ never had. All killer, no filler, undiscovered gold right here.
