Little Barrie reveal the video for current single ‘Love or Love

LITTLE BARRIE return with new single ‘Love Or Love’. Released digitally on 9th December and physically on 7th January, it’s the first single to be taken from their new album ‘Death Express’, which will drop in Spring 2017.

“‘Love Or Love’ is about the constant push and pull of life between day to day survival, mentally and financially, achieving personal goals and being there for the ones you love. That need to go with your gut but the guilt that comes with it,” explains front man Barrie Cadogan. ‘Love Or Love’ has been mixed by Grammy-nominated Tommy Forrest (Duke Dumont, Basement Jaxx, Rudimental) who also did the last single ‘I.5.C.A.’

Little Barrie have been honing their sounds and crafting their art for 15 years. Avoiding hype and surviving fashion and its whimsical dalliances. It’s what great bands do. The band, whose music has been synced across adverts, films and TV shows in both the UK and US, recently penned the theme tune to ‘Better Call Saul’.

Discussing the sonic direction the band have taken with the new album, Cadogan says, “We’ve been experimenting more with new ways of playing and recording ourselves, seeing how far we can go with what we have at our disposal to take the music forward. We want to create sounds that are exciting to us. I don’t ever want us to repeat ourselves. We want to keep moving. Your tastes change, and the way you want to go, and the band’s sound has changed. We’ve played together so much more, and because of that we’ve been able to do a lot more. It’s not just the gigs, but recording and rehearsing together. There’s much more of a performance element in the band now.”

Anyone who has witnessed the band’s live performances over the past few years will testify to just how tight, accomplished and telepathic each element has become. The band has toured extensively around the world and been personally invited to support artists such as The Stone Roses, Charles Bradley, Dinosaur Jnr, Kasabian and Primal Scream. They tour the UK in November and December with a closing show at Oslo, Hackney on 15th December. Full details below.

Little Barrie are guitarist and vocalist, Barrie Cadogan, bassist Lewis Wharton and drummer extraordinaire, Virgil Howe. In addition to being in the band, Wharton is also a motorcycle enthusiast and illustrator; Howe, the acclaimed drumming son of rock figurehead Steve Howe, produces and DJs in the UK and abroad; Cadogan is a world respected guitarist and the go-to guy for the likes of Primal Scream, Paul Weller, Edwyn Collins, Anton Newcombe, Spiritualized, Pete Molinari, Charles Bradley, The Chemical Brothers and Paolo Nutini. It is a testament to these three players that as a band they are making their strongest music to date.
