King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard - share new video & announce details of live concert film

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, who today released two albums, K.G. and Live In San Francisco ’16, have shared a video to Intrasport, the latest track to be taken from K.G. and announced details of a companion live concert film to accompany Live In San Francisco ’16,

Filmed by Misha Vladimirskiy for Butchershop Creative and shot at the band’s show at The Independent in the city on May 26th 2016, the film will be available HERE for a 2-week period from 8 pm on Wednesday for $5USD.

Having previously shared the tracks Straws In The Wind, Automation, Honey & Some Of Us, Intrasport is the latest track to be taken from their 10-track album K.G. released on KGLW via Caroline and their sixteenth since forming in 2010. Available digitally today, the vinyl edition of the album will follow on Friday 11th December.

The video was directed by John Angus Stewart who previously worked with the band on Chunky Shrapnel. Talking about the video John said:

The clip was shot in my tiny studio apartment. For the main reason that it’s the smallest place I know that someone lives in. The aim was to find the 50/50 split: feeling lonely at a party but surrounded by people. Feeling like you are the only one there and that nobody really understands you (but you still have to bring it). I used 35mm anamorphic to give the small space as much panoramic effect as I could muster. Sometimes the smallest of spaces feel huge when you are partying, why do you think everyone always gathers in the kitchen or bathroom!

The band also recently released Live In Asheville ’19 and Demos Vol.1 + Vol.2 via Bandcamp only and earlier this year a live tour movie (and attendant album) Chunky Shrapnel, an up-close, unconventional and discombobulating portrait that captured the power and sheer oddness of the live Gizz experience, a tour that culminated in a sold-out headline show at London’s historic Alexandra Palace in late 2019.
