Vocalist and rhythm guitarist Myles Kennedy, lead guitarist Mark Tremonti, bassist Brian Marshall and drummer Scott Phillips came to Nottingham and blew everyone’s socks off with their powerful performance.
The support came from Mammoth WVH and Halestorm. The first band and their frontman Wolfgang Van Halen were a great way to start the night of heavy rock. Halestorm took the stage after them, and the power of Lzzy Hale’s voice was jaw-droppingly impressive.
And then Alter Bridge – the gig’s headliners – played their new and old songs. The band’s new album, Pawns & Kings, came out in October this year, and it was terrific to hear that they are still at the top of the game.
All three bands complimented each other very well in terms of sound and style, but especially in terms of having compelling vocalists. The walls of Motorpoint Arena were shaking, and it was almost impossible to stand still.
