Ahead of a busy summer and the release of their second album, FATHERSON have announced some very special, intimate shows in Scotland which leads them up to their T in the Park appearance in July. The trio will play in Skye, Thurso, Orkney and Aberdeen – going off the beaten track for live bands and giving them the chance to visit some beautiful parts of the country not usually associated with many gigs! These follow a trip to Germany last week where they played to over 7,000 people with Biffy Clyro and a storming show at Live at Leeds Festival.
Vocalist Ross Leighton commented “We can’t wait to head back to some of our favourite places in the Highlands for some really special shows before our return to T in the Park. T audiences are always in fine voice and we are so looking forward to playing our biggest festival show to date in Strathallan this year!”
They have also made available the video for new single ‘Just Past The Point of Breaking’ – you can see it below: – the track has been enjoying plays on Radio1/Radio X and Absolute. Several more festival dates have been added to their two biggest headline shows to date in London and Glasgow.
‘Open Book’ is released on 3rd June and the 12-track album shows the growth and maturity of the band as songwriters whist retaining their already classic sound. With grand anthemic tracks such as album opener track ‘Just Past The Point Of Breaking’ and the touching vulnerability of ‘Younger Days’. It was recorded at Rockfield Studios in Wales with Bruce Rintoul (Twin Atlantic and Eliza and the Bear). ‘Always’ was a good taster for the record with its momentous climb to a climatic chorus and current single ‘Lost Little Boys’ (mixed by Adam Noble (Placebo, Nothing But Thieves, Don Broco) tells a tale of friendship and growing up with a hypnotic drum beat driving the song along.
