Belfast duo Blue Americans – Kris Platt and Daniel Morgan Ball are pleased to announce a Belfast headline show at Voodoo on Sunday, May 26th 2019. The two-piece released their brand new single ‘Dumbo’ on the 15th February, taken from their upcoming Sum Yen EP out on the 18th April via LAB Records.
The Sum Yen EP will feature previous single ‘Honey’ – featured on Spotify’s New Music Friday in both the UK and US – along with two other previously unreleased tracks, ‘Sunchaser’ and ‘This Old Thing.’
‘Dumbo’ finds the band showcasing their experimental pop leanings, as brooding synths and electronic hip hop beats give way to an irrepressible chorus, complemented by the soulful vocals of lead singer Kris Platt.
Describing the single, the band say: “ ‘Dumbo’ is a song that dwells on the significance of the everyday monotony and the mundane. All of these seemingly meaningless happenings down under the Manhattan Bridge overpass or in your living room, these are the moments that shape your existence. Don’t miss it, Dumbo.”
Having recently toured with Fatherson and supported Youngr at his Village Underground show, the band have announced details of two headline shows set to take place in May. Blue Americans will play the following shows:
Thursday 16th May – London The Waiting Room
Sunday 26th May – Belfast Voodoo
More shows are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
