Black Rivers build on the positive reaction accorded to their self-titled album with the release of the new single ‘Age of Innocence’ which impacts on May 18th. The single coincides with the duo’s upcoming headline tour for which their Manchester homecoming show is already sold-out.
Written and produced by Jez & Andy Williams, and mixed by Claudius Mittendorfer (Johnny Marr, Interpol), ‘Age of Innocence’ is a rush of rock‘n’roll energy, punk attitude and electronic influences.
“We wanted to do something fast, energetic and youthful,” says Jez. “We weren’t just gonna do an old rockabilly track. It was about fusing things together to see what worked. We wanted to be able to say, ‘Yes, this is exciting!’”
Fresh from a Stateside visit which included SXSW and a successful West Coast tour, Black Rivers have also toured as guests to Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Elbow.
A digital bundle will be available from April 13th which combines the album version of ‘Age of Innocence’ together with a remix courtesy of London-based producer Boxed In. Listen to the remix below.
