WOLF ALICE - REVEAL NEW SINGLE 'BROS' - Listen

Following on from their sold-out UK tour, London’s Wolf Alice are sharing new single ‘Bros’ – the second track to be revealed from their debut album, My Love Is Cool, due June 22nd on Dirty Hit Records. With guitar work that fizzes and bubbles right from the off atop a frolicking drum beat, it’s an infectious ode to the elation that only truly great friendships can bring you; a euphoric moment dedicated to “everyone who’s ever had a friend, and for those who haven’t”.

In contrast to the lofty expanses traversed on previous single ‘Giant Peach’ and the subdued beauty of b-side ‘I Saw You (In A Corridor)’, ’Bros’, reworked and reimagined, provides the link between the band’s mesmerising, multi-faceted sound and is another glimpse at their long-awaited, Mike Crossey-produced debut album.

As Ellie states; “Bros is a sentimental tune to us, it’s grown and changed with us over the past couple of years, taking on different shapes and forms until it evolved into being this definitive album version. It’s an ode to childhood imagination and friendship and all the charm that comes with that. The live response to the song has been truly humbling.”

Following a breakthrough 2014, it’s been a whirlwind start to 2015 for the young foursome. Beginning in earnest with a pair of sold-out US shows in LA and New York, the band have spent much of this year on the road: taking in sold-out tours across the US and UK, a tour across Europe with alt-J, and a glorious homecoming headlining London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire. In addition, the band announced their eagerly anticipated debut album My Love Is Cool with the motorik ‘Giant Peach’, which was placed on the Radio 1 B-List and whose limited [500] vinyl edition sold out on day one.

From the enormous riffs of ‘Giant Peach’ to the muffled, urgent melodies of ‘Lisbon’ and hip-hop rhythms of ‘Silk’, My Love Is Cool is a masterful, explorative statement of Wolf Alice’s multiple characters. Equal parts gigantic guitars and wistful, wilting beauty, My Love Is Cool is a timeless collection of songs that outweighs any preconceived notions of what Wolf Alice are, or can be. The ambitions of Ellie Rowsell (guitar/vocals), Theo Ellis (bass), Joff Oddie (guitars) and Joel Amey (drums/vocals) are now fully realised in stunning widescreen.

My Love Is Cool will be released through Dirty Hit Records in the UK on 22nd June 2015.
